Did it cross anyone's mind that sweet, sweet Bonnie Rae Harper wouldn't end up stabbing her husband to death? Did anybody doubt this is how things would end up for Bonnie? I am positive that if you saw this woman at a gas station (which is kind of her hang out) you'd take one look and think, "Wow, she is either on her way or just got back from killing her husband."Although, to sweet Bonnie's credit it was kind of self defense... I mean, her drunk, abusive husband of 27 YEARS was choking her and had her pinned against the kitchen sink. Justification aside, we (that is, ALL of us from the Logan High School Class of '69) knew this day would come.. one way or another. She just always had that "I'm gonna stab someone someday," look about her.
We were so sure of it we created a new category when it came time to pick Senior Favorites... who knew we would be so dead on?!

We all just pray that she can get the help she needs in what could possibly be a SINGLE YEAR of incarceration. Great job Logan, Utah 1st District Court!

P.S. Here's my favorite quote from the Salt Lake Tribune article. It's from the judge, Thomas L. Willmore. Bonnie's predisposition for viricide notwithstanding, it seems James Harper had it coming. C'mon, a little bit...
"Even though James Harper was an alcoholic, even though he was an abuser, even though he was a child molester, even though he was despicable at times and even though some may say, 'Evil,' it wasn't up to you to take his life. It's not your decision."
